First car designed, built entirely in UAE sent to France
Dubai: A sports vehicle designed and built entirely in the UAE has been transported to France, where it is scheduled to be showcased at a prestigious automotive endurance event.
Inspired by the old vehicles in the 1960s, the UAE-made car is lightweight retro-futuristic. It was built using hi-tech composite materials by Jannarelly Automotive with Equation Composites LLC, the first company to have secured a licence to manufacture cars in the UAE.
Emirates SkyCargo said on Thursday that it has already transported the car to Lyon in France, just in time for the ’24 hours of Le Mans’ endurance race.
The freight division of Emirates enlisted the services of Prodex Worldwide to make the transfer possible. Emirates SkyCargo regularly transports premium and luxury vehicles on both its passenger aircraft and freighters across its global network of more than 155 destinations.
The first car to be created in UAE was put together by a small team of specialists and is valued anywhere between $70,000 and $90,000.
